Vitae: championing professional and career development for researchers launches new programme of activities

8 September 2008…Vitae Realising the potential of researchers, welcomed over 400 participants today to our first annual conference, exploring a new era of professional development support for researchers in the UK. The event builds on the previous UK GRAD Programme and UKHERD conferences.

Significant and rapid changes in the global environment create both opportunities and challenges for building the skills base of UK researchers during the next five years. This conference will address the strategic and practical implications of a changing framework of support for researchers in the UK, including the launch of the Concordat for supporting the career development of researchers.

For full programme information see www.researcherconferences.org.uk

During the conference the following new Vitae publications will be available, now also accessible on the Vitae website: Further information about the conference related activities and our forthcoming post-conference updates will be posted on this website shortly.
